The trend in green smoothies seem to be never ending. With promises of everlasting health, and magic ingredients to help you burn fat and lose weight fast!
I make non of these promises other than that by consuming this blend, it will help you to get closer to that ever elusive 5 or more a-day, many of us struggle to achieve (unless all you eat all day are plants like me)!
This is a great all rounder smoothie packed with vitamins and minerals, anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, healthy fats and fibre to support overall health and wellness
A blend of nourishing fruit and leafy green vegetables, heart healthy fat, and electrolyte balancing coconut water to keep those cells healthy.
The key here (and like most things in life), is trying to find that right balance that works for you. And like all the recipes shared in this section feel free to play around with the ingredients to personalise it to your specific needs taste.
Recipe makes 1 serving | Takes 5 minutes to prepare
What You Need
250ml of coconut or spring water (or combination of both)
1/2 cup of freshly cut pineapple (these can be pre cut and frozen and used straight from the freezer)
1/2 of an organic kiwi (can also be cut, frozen and used straight from the freezer)
A handful of fresh kale (removed from stalk)
1/4 of a medium sized avocado
1/2 a thumb size of grated ginger
1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder
Optional - 2 drops of peppermint or lemon essential oil
Blender – a high speed one would work better, however a normal domestic blender will also work, but will take a little longer
How To Do It
- Add all the ingredients into your blender (minus the essential oil if using), and combined well until you no longer see any more pieces of kale. Now add your essential oil and blend for a few seconds.
- Pour into a glass, or travel cup.
